ABOUT

What brought you here? Do you have a space that needs a transformation from top to bottom? Have you purchased some items for your home, but you don’t know where to put them? Does your home not feel finished or pulled together?

Perhaps design isn’t your thing at all, but you would love your home to look like it is. Maybe you just want more information on how this interior design thing works.

Regardless, I have got you covered. It is my joy and my job to create a space that you will love to dwell in.

I am Rocquelle Devine, a southern girl born and raised in Arkansas. I later moved to Maryland and my southern beliefs in hospitality and comfortable luxury came with me. I love home and I think every house should feel like home. A space should not just be ascetically pleasing, its environment should speak to you and everyone that enters it. Whether it speaks “WOW” or “Come on it and have a seat”, or both, it should leave a positive impression that reflects who you are.

Beauty, infusions of color, patterns, and texture have always been loves of mine. This love evolved during my college days where I was so inspired by my roommate’s color coordinated bedroom that I convinced her to help me with my room, too. To further cultivate my design eye after graduating college, I enrolled in an interior design program taught by a successful high end interior designer. I took on some projects for friends and family to further help hone my skills. After relocating to Southern Maryland with my husband and kids, I worked for a luxury interior designer as an office manager for several years before eventually launching my own boutique interior design company!

I am an empty nester who enjoys traveling, attending church regularly, trying new foods, reading, dating my husband of over 25 years, hanging with my three young adults, and cuddling with my dog, Love.

If you are open to change, and ready for an upgrade to your space and your environment, I am here to help you. Let’s work!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What areas do you service?

I am located in Southern Maryland and I service the DMV area, as well as areas outside of that, within reason. Virtual design services may be available for clients all that reside anywhere in the United States.

I have never hired an interior designer before. What is your process?

I'm so glad you asked! Here are the 4 simple steps that initially take place.

1.     I begin with a 15-20 minute complimentary Discovery Call to discuss the scope of work, timeline, and what you are imagining for your space.

2.     An In Home Consultation is scheduled to view the space in person and get more detailed about your style and the space(s) we will transform.

3.     A general Mood Board and an estimate is sent to you.

4.     Upon acceptance, the Letter of Agreement is signed and payment is submitted

AND THEN THE EXCITEMENT BEGINS! I will communicate with you about the next steps of your project!

How much does it cost to work with a designer?

Designers have varying price points and ways that they charge for their services. I charge a flat percentage fee based on the investment amount determined to complete your project.

How much does it cost to furnish a room?

This depends highly on the quality of the items you want in your space and the scope of work the space needs. Here is a good informative exercise— visit the website of your favorite average priced retail furniture store and add the needed items to the shopping cart and look at the total. For example, try The Pottery Barn’s website and add to cart the following items to furnish the standard living room— leather sofa, 2 chairs, coffee table, 9 x 12 rug, 2 end tables, 2 lamps, throw pillows, drapery, chandelier, media console, art, and accessories. This will give you somewhat of an idea of what you should be prepared to invest; however, remember that fees for the painters, flooring installers, electrician, and interior designer are not factored into that amount.

Can you work with the furniture pieces and accessories I already have?

If the style, quality, and color make sense in the design we are going for, then in some cases I can incorporate pieces that the client already owns. This will be determined upon in person observation of the items.

How long does it take to complete my home space(s)?

This is determined by a variety of factors— scope of work, schedules, shipping times, decision making time, possible delays beyond our control, etc. Please inform us right away if your project is time sensitive so that we can factor that in when determining if you are able to take on your project.
